Bece

Bece's Bold shop-in-shops are interactive and designed to show consumers the convenience and comfort of a smart home. The module includes smart window decoration, music, lighting and controls. We have now installed more than 100 in the Netherlands and they are now even being installed in Denmark, Norway and Wisconsin.

PostNL

How do you ensure that you can work more efficiently in a mail sorting center? We were asked by PostNL to develop a sorting cabinet that can help with that process. In total, this involved 1500 sorting cabinets, spread over six branches in the Netherlands. We delivered these in 15 weeks, which meant: 100 cabinets per week, 10 cabinets per trailer, 10 trailers per week, so two trailers per day. That's also project management.

Zuidweg Oogcontact

Zwartwoud handled the entire interior fit-out for Zuidweg Oogcontact. It is a bold and colorful project that comes together to create a striking retail environment. From production to final installation, the entire project was delivered by Zwartwoud.

ING

Characteristic of the ING house concept is the homely atmosphere in which hospitality is central. Based on the Creneau International concept and in collaboration with Inbo Architects and Klokgroep, Zwartwoud is co-creator of the rollout of the concept design.

ABN Amro

In addition to office environments, we also work on locations where ABN AMRO welcomes its clients. For these projects, we translate ABN AMRO's various interior concepts into bespoke solutions that align with the bank's function, aesthetic, and sustainability ambitions.

Primera

Zwartwoud is responsible for the redevelopment and realization of Primera's retail furnishings. We renew and adapt existing stores, open new stores and help to further develop existing formulas and concepts.

Nelson

For Nelson, Zwartwoud created custom interiors for various stores throughout the Netherlands. Within the retail concept, the focus is on showcasing the collection, bringing together functionality, aesthetics, and a recognizable brand experience.

How we work together on your new store

01

Introduction

A brainstorming session focused on your retail concept, brand experience, and growth plans. Together with your interior architect, we explore how design, execution, and rollout can best align with your ambitions.

02

Product development

A future-proof retail concept starts with smart product development. Zwartwoud develops modular and circular interior elements designed for longevity and adaptability. Together with retailers and architects, we create solutions that can be easily modified, reused, or repurposed during concept updates, restylings, and new store openings. This is how we combine a consistent brand experience with sustainable and efficient store interior management.

03

Project Management

A retail formula thrives on predictability and consistency. That is why our project teams take full control of the entire process—from planning and budget management to logistical coordination and execution. Through a structured approach, we ensure a seamless rollout, minimal downtime, and a store concept that delivers a consistent brand experience at every location.

04

Production

For retail chains, flexibility is essential. That is why Zwartwoud combines its own production facilities with an extensive network of specialized partners. This allows us to efficiently realize everything from custom work for a pilot store to large-scale rollouts across multiple locations. Being material-independent, we always choose the solution that best fits the brand identity, aesthetic, and budget. Furthermore, through our commitment to Social Return on Investment (SROI), we actively contribute to a sustainable and inclusive society.

05

From the first location to a full-scale rollout: Zwartwoud takes complete control of the realization process. We coordinate all parties involved and ensure efficient execution with minimal downtime. Frequently asked questions

01

How quickly can a store reopen after a renovation?

That depends on the scale and the concept, but minimizing downtime is a core part of how we work. We plan the renovation as tightly as possible and think ahead about how to keep the store closed for the shortest time possible: that is exactly what our project teams focus on.

02

Do you also work with our own interior architect?

Yes, that happens regularly. Often, the architect provides the concept and we join the process for further development and full, turn-key execution, including future-proofing the concept for the years to come.

03

Can you also roll out multiple locations simultaneously or sequentially?

Yes. Whether it concerns a single store or a formula with dozens to hundreds of locations, we monitor the schedule and budget for each location and ensure the formula remains recognizable, even with local adjustments.

04

Is sustainable working possible within our existing retail formula?

Often yes, and it doesn't have to be more expensive. Sometimes it is even more cost-effective. We look specifically at what fits within the concept and aesthetics, rather than imposing a standard approach.

05

What happens after delivery: do you stay involved?

Yes, and that is exactly where we distinguish ourselves. Formulas continue to evolve: a new shelf, an adjusted concept, and we want to remain the partner that moves along with that, not just at the initial delivery.
